Hello - I've been reading the boards for sometime now, however, this is my first post. Great Forum!
I'm trying to upgrade the seats on my 05 xlt with leather power and heated seats from an 04 EB. My drivers seat is power but the connectors don't match up with the seat from the EB. The EB drivers seat has a big green connector and a med. sized grey connector.
Basically what I need to know is if this is a fairly doable upgrade or will it require a major rehaul of the wiring. If it's fairly simple, can someone give a starting point.
Thanks!

Welcome to the site! I wouldn't think it would be that hard of an upgrade since you already have power seats. I would think you just need to wire up the heat switch seperately. Obviously it won't be like my Limited where it displays on the climate control, but I wouldn't think that would matter. Let someone else chime in on this one though, don't take my word for it. Good luck with it

Despite the connector differences, if you are good at wiring or know somebody who is they can easily make it work. I have a '99 Sport and I had a two tone leather power/heated seat combo out of a 2004 Sport Trac when I did an entire interior swap.
I did not do the wiring as I do not know what I am doing but my friend did it and everything worked excellent. I remember him putting wires into the factory seat connector and splicing them into my existing seat wiring harness that comes out of the floor. That is how I got power into the new seats. I had to do this because the connectors obviously did not match.
Hope this helps somehow. Unfortunately I never got pictures of the wiring my friend did.
Here's a writeup, it may help you marginally about the interior swap I did. Bottomline, what you are saying IS possible.

That is possible, you need to start by comparing seat wiring colors. Do you have the EB seats yet, and can you go back and obtain the matching connector for the EB seat? It works best if you can keep factory connectors, and splice into wires on either side o fhte connectors. It's possible that you only need one more wire, for the heated seat circuit. In my 99 Explorer the heated seat wire is Lt.blue/white striped.

I ran into the same problem when I put a set of 04 heated power seats in my 03 XLT. The easiest way to do it is to use youre old seat frame, just remove the leather covers and swap them with youre old seat frame, that way you wont have to try to figure out what wires you need to use. The heated seats have that big module under the drivers seat frame.
here are some pics of the seat frame and cusion after it was removed

Thanks for all of the advice! I have the seats and I am now waiting for the actual connectors from the EB. After reading dwtc's post, I may just try and swap the frames.
Thanks again!

Seat Upgrade
I tried to change out my driver seat from a 2004 to a 2006 and plugged all the plugs in, they look the same as the old one's. However, the seat belt latch wouldn't work. We got it to work manually however, now my seat belt light comes on and makes it's usual seat belt off beeping. Did the wiring change that much between those years? Is the problem in the seat belt or the wiring?
